Towne South Animal Hospital is a reliable and compassionate family veterinary clinic located in Shreveport, LA.  Our goal at Towne South Animal Hospital is to offer the very best in veterinary care to our patients. We believe in continuing education and learning as much as possible so we can offer the highest quality and most up-to-date veterinary care. This holds true for our veterinarians and the rest of our staff. Our patients and their owners deserve to have the very best care when they walk through our doors. We have served the Shreveport-Bossier area since 1974. In 2014 & 2015 Towne South was named one of the LSU Top 100 Tiger Owned Businesses. We are also proud to be the first AAHA accredited clinic in Shreveport. We have held our AAHA accreditation since 2007.

  • Dr. Hunter

    Medical Director

    Dr. Leia Hunter began practicing at Towne South Animal Hospital in October of 2011. She graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge in May of 2010, finishing in the top 3 of her graduating class. After receiving her veterinary license, Dr. Hunter completed a one-year medicine and surgery internship at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hunter is originally from Bogalusa, Louisiana and met her husband while attending undergraduate school at LSU in Baton Rouge. Her personal interests include spending time with her two children, reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels, and watching LSU and Saints football. Her veterinary interests include surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. In January 2017, Dr. Leia Hunter became the Towne South Team’s Medical Director.

  • Dr. Noonan


    Dr. Sarah Noonan graduated in 2019 from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana and is a graduate of Airline High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science: Pre-Vet from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA in 2015. After graduation, she accepted a year-long internship position at Delta Equine Center, LLC in Vinton, LA where she learned both equine and small animal medicine and surgery.

    Dr. Noonan is interested in all aspects of mixed animal medicine and surgery. She enjoys meeting new clients, providing excellent client education, and giving top-quality patient care.

    Aside from the daily hospital routine, she loves spending time with her husband, Chris Stelly, and friends. Together they have two pets, a lab mix named Willow and a black domestic medium hair cat named Bobbi. She enjoys going to the beach, visiting new places, and enjoying new experiences.
